for nearly two decades, dade has worked somewhere between a design studio, an art gallery, a furniture showroom and an ongoing experiment in how we live. we have never been particularly interested in keeping those things separate.

now, they have a new place to come together.

welcome to apt. × dade - our penthouse pied-à-terre inside Calgary’s historic Anderson Estates.

built in 1912, Anderson Estates has always possessed the kind of character that cannot be manufactured. its layered history, classic proportions and quietly grand architecture made it the perfect setting for a different kind of dade experience.

this is not a traditional showroom.

it is a real apartment where furniture is sat on, art is lived with and objects are allowed to become part of a larger story. contemporary pieces sit alongside vintage finds. collectible design meets the everyday. serious work is balanced with color, humour and a healthy disregard for the expected.

everything has been selected with intention - but nothing feels overly arranged.

at apt. × dade, you can experience furniture, lighting, art and objects as they were meant to be experienced: in a home. you can see how a chair feels after more than a moment, how a sculpture changes a room or how the right object can start an entirely unexpected conversation.

the apartment is also a place to gather.

it is home to happy hour × dade, our intimate catalogue-shopping series; supper club × dade, where food, design and conversation share the table; private appointments, artist conversations and whatever else we dream up along the way.

some evenings will be about furniture. others may begin with art, fragrance, food, music or an object we simply cannot stop thinking about.

because the most interesting things usually happen somewhere in between.
